“…may your spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thess.5:23)
When we are in Christ our spirits are safe. But our souls must undergo a process of renewal before they can become all that God intends. It is that growth, that regeneration to a healthy state that allows our souls to thrive.
On Saturday, November 1st, 2014, David J. Jones will be teaching on this very important part of the Christian journey. He will clarify the difference between the body, soul and spirit and teach on what it means to be a new creation, what our responsibilities are and what it is to be fully known by God. Join us as we seek prosperity together.
A brief description of the sessions being taught:
Session 1: BODY, SOUL and SPIRIT
This session will address the concept of Naturalism and the Inaccurate Interpretation of Scripture. What we believe, that is our interpretation of Scripture, will impact the way we tackle the brokenness of our souls. (Rom. 7)
b) The Broken Image
What does it mean to be made in the image of God? This session will explain His triune nature, His intention behind making us in His image and what that really means. It will also expand on the nature of the jars of clay.
Session 2: BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING
This session will describe the Kingdom and why it is free of anxiety. (Luke 12:22-34) It will also explore redemptive suffering, (2 Cor. 4:7-18) and discuss the relationship of anxiety and sin.
Session 3: TAKING RESPONSIBILTY (Mat.10)
This session will explore the concept of curse and choice (Gen. 4:6-7, 11-12). It will show that we cannot blame who we are on our natural heritage (Ezek. 18:5-13), what a true fear of God really looks like, that we are not victims (Mat.10:26-31) and that love demands growth (1 Cor. 13:11).
Session 4: NEW CREATION
This session will explore the limitations and possibilities of a wrong Christian worldview (Rom.7). It will also answer the question of why man was created and what we are here to do (1 John 3). Also discussed will be the breath of God, the problem of disconnection (Col. 2:18-19), and the choice of faith over fear (Rom. 8:15).
Session 5: FULLY KNOWN
In this session the reality of what it means to be fully known by God will be discussed. The concept of completion in Him (Col. 2:10), and His role as author and Finisher (Heb. 12:2) are explored as well an explanation of the Revelation 21:4 verse. It will end with a discussion on what it means to be Face to Face:
“For now we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known.” (1 Cor. 13:11)
